About Us


Ann Tohill CLD CPD CCCE is a CAPPA Certified Labor and Postpartum Doula and Childbirth Educator serving Washington and Chittenden counties of Vermont. Her services include labor support and postpartum care to families with newborns and toddlers. Labor doulas offer support before, during and immediately after a birth to the mother and support partner. Postpartum doulas offer support to families in need of care and organization following a birth or adoption of a new baby. Ann has also completed her CAPPA certification for Childbirth Education and is offering traditional evidence based classes helping families prepare for childbirth in Vermont.

Additionally, Ann works with Washington County Mental Health Services within The Doula Project to provide local families with prenatal education, labor and postpartum support. Please inquire if you are interested to see if you qualify for this free service.

Ann is Red Cross certified for First Aid and Infant and Adult CPR. Ann also offers belly casting services.

Areas of Support:

Birth services offered include assisting the woman and partner in preparing for and carrying out their birth plans. Staying with the woman throughout entire labor and birth. Providing emotional support, physical comfort measures and an objective viewpoint, as well as helping the woman get the information needed to make informed decisions regarding her birth.

Postpartum services offered include nursery organization, breast feeding and bottle feeding support, baby soothing techniques, meal preparation and planning, household management, light housekeeping, laundry, visitor management, postpartum care for the mother, bonding techniques for the mother and partner, and so much more!

Childbirth education is an important part of preparing for your labor and birth. Ann offers group and private classes in Washington County, VT in a group setting in Moretown or in the comfort of your own home. Please inquire! Many insurance companies reimburse for childbirth classes.

About Mountain Mama Doula VT:

Ann has been a stay at home mom to her two babies since 2009 in the Mad River Valley of Vermont. She has a BA in English and Irish Literature and studied Latin and Ancient Greek at Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA. She has been a vegetarian chef for over fifteen years and loves to create exciting and nourishing dishes for new mamas and their families. Ann is passionate about helping all mamas attain the birth experience they desire in an objective manner. She is skilled at working with Vermonters in their unique homes and creating a peaceful setting where families can raise their babies with ease and confidence. She has lived in Vermont for almost 15 years with her husband, children, and lots of cats and chickens.
